An IT project brings together two sides that do not always speak the same language. The business owner (MOA, maîtrise d’ouvrage) expresses the business need and sponsors the project; the delivery side (MOE, maîtrise d’œuvre) designs and builds the solution. Between the two, the pitfalls are well known: a poorly expressed need, late decisions, a slipping schedule, users unprepared for change.
What this covers
Business & IT advisory strengthens one of the two sides, sometimes both, with project management and coordination profiles. Depending on your needs, our consultants lead a programme, manage a project, structure a PMO or coach your teams in their methods. They work embedded with your teams and provide hands-on support, as close to the project as possible.
What we take on
- Programme and project leadership: chairing steering bodies and project committees, tracking schedule, budget and indicators, contributing to thinking on how the information system should evolve.
- Project management: gathering and analysing needs, running workshops, writing functional specifications and requirement documents, coordinating IT, business teams and vendors.
- PMO actions: planning, action tracking, setting up indicators and reporting, preparing committees.
- Agile frameworks and coaching: setting up a way of working (Scrum, Kanban), running the ceremonies, writing Epics and User Stories, coaching teams as they adopt these practices.
- User support: preparing acceptance testing, supporting business users during testing and as new tools go live.
- Change management: preparing teams for new tools and new ways of working.
How we work
On this kind of engagement, listening and framing matter as much as what follows. Before putting tools around a project, our consultants take the time to understand its governance, its stakeholders and its constraints. They then formalise with you the objectives and success criteria on which project steering will rest.
During delivery, they move the project forward in iterations, measure progress and share trade-offs with you. Support carries the engagement beyond go-live, through change management with the users.
A lead / consultant pair oversees every engagement. A monthly check-in brings your contacts and our consultants together, and we gather your feedback on the engagement.
Methods
Our project managers and project directors practise agile methods (Scrum, Kanban) as well as more traditional project management, built on schedule, budget and indicators. The framework we adopt depends on your organisation and on the nature of the project.
These skills belong to our consulting offer, consolidated in 2015 around organisation, audit, change management and programme and project leadership.
Who we work with
Our consultants support major accounts across a wide range of sectors: banking and insurance, the music business, hospitality, automotive and major public administrations.
